A few days ago, it was announced that the Casalito-Quidam de Revel son Coolio, line 2067, is moving from Marcel Marschall's (GER) stable to the stable of top German rider Marcus Ehning. Martina Wirtz from Hohenzieritz in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern bred the ten-year-old, once sold via a Holsteiner foal auction, and tells how a circle is now closing for her.

Coolio was the first foal out of her Quidam de Revel-Contender-Corofino I mare Anka VIII, which comes from the breeding of Jürgen Hattebuhr (Winsen). Via the Holsteiner Elite Foal Auction 2013, the dark bay then moved to Bavaria and Martina Wirtz initially lost sight of him. As a young horse, he was then successful in young horse show jumping classes and in 2019 entered the stable of Marschall, who introduced him to international tasks. The Wirtz family followed his sporting career, but never had the opportunity to see Coolio again. During their time together, Marcel Marschall placed with Coolio in classes up to 1.60 metres, this year among others third in the Grand Prix of Linz (AUT), fourth in Mannheim (GER), and was part of the German bronze team in the Nations Cup of St. Gallen (SUI). "The news of Coolio's move to Marcus Ehning hit me hard," Martina Wirtz admits. "Marcel Marschall has done a very good job in his training. But I am incredibly proud that a horse from my breeding is now coming into the string of Marcus Ehning." She knows Ehning and his father through Josef Estendorfer, the now deceased owner of the stallion Sandro Boy. With Sandro Boy, Marcus Ehning once celebrated international successes, winning for example the World Cup Final in Kuala Lumpur (MYS) in 2006, the Nations Cup in Barcelona (ESP) in 2007 or also the Grand Prix of Munich (GER) in 2010. "Through Mr. Estendorfer, I discovered my love for breeding and learned a lot from him. He had a close connection to Marcus Ehning and I wish he could have lived to see a horse from my breeding come to his stable," she says touched. "In this story, a circle is now closing and I am very much looking forward to seeing Coolio and Marcus together in the course in the future – perhaps even live for once."
