Elmshorn office
Financial Accountant (m/f/d) with a passion for horses
Full-time | Elmshorn/Home Office (hybrid) | From immediately or by arrangement
Do you love numbers – and horses? Then we have the perfect job for you!
We, Holsteiner Verband Vermarktungs- und Auktions GmbH, part of the long-established Holsteiner Verband, are looking to strengthen our accounts team in Elmshorn. With us, your work will follow the journey of horses from foals right through to top international sport horses – exciting, varied and challenging from an accounting perspective.
Here’s what you can expect from us:
- Independently managing accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger accounts
- Preparing invoices in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) and confidently applying tax regulations
- Responsibility for payment transactions, receivables management and cash bookkeeping
- Preparing VAT returns, monthly and annual financial statements, including reporting to senior management and the board
- Direct contact with business partners in Germany and abroad (knowledge of English an advantage)
Looking to the future:
- Management and further development of the accounting function
- Establishing a transparent controlling and reporting system to support data-driven decisions by senior management
- Responsibility for team leadership and development
What you’ll bring to the role:
- A completed commercial apprenticeship and solid experience in financial accounting
- A passion for digital accounting and process optimisation
- Experience in team leadership, combined with hands-on operational work
- Strong numerical aptitude, initiative and a structured approach to work
- Proficiency in using DATEV, MS Office and complex Excel spreadsheets
- Enjoyment of respectful communication with breeders and business partners
