The Swedes fought it out amongst themselves for victory in the Stockholm Grand Prix (SWE). “That was great fun,” agreed Peder Fredricson, Amanda Landeblad and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson afterwards. Bengtsson and Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, secured another bronze medal following their third-place finish on Friday. “Unfortunately, the others were faster,” Rolf-Göran Bengtsson said with a smile afterwards. “But I’m very pleased with how my horses performed here without any faults throughout the weekend.”
Among them was Caillan by Casall-Carry (Gerd Ohlsen, Föhr), line 18A2. The Casall son and Bengtsson placed in all three classes they competed in at Stockholm, including fourth and fifth place in a 1.45-metre show jumping class. Diamantino by Diamant de Semilly-Caretino (Joachim Schiedel, Grande), line 260, and Malin Baryard-Johnsson (SWE) also finished fourth in one of these classes.
In Madrid, Marcus Ehning (GER) finished fifth in a 1.50-metre show jumping class. He was riding Flower Girl by Hickstead out of Catoki. The mare was bred by Michal Szadkowski and belongs to line 628B.
The winner of the 1.50-metre show jumping class was Callias by Companiero-Casco (Sven and Lothar Völz, Wöhrden), line 730B, ridden by Jesus Garmendia Echevarria (ESP). The pair secured prize money of just under 35,000 euros with their victory at the World Cup show in the Spanish capital.
