Catalogue number 1 adds a very special item to the collection’s lot: Trippeltrappel is a pony foal that is to be auctioned off at the Holsteiner Elite Riding Horse Auction in aid of a charity project.
The beneficial effects of horse riding on body, mind and soul are well known to anyone who has ever sat on the back of a horse. When this effect is used to improve and alleviate psychosocial problems and disorders, as well as in the treatment of physical disabilities, it is referred to as therapeutic riding. Horses are also used preventatively to support the motor and educational development of children in nurseries and schools. The horse occupies a very special place in the field of animal-assisted therapy. The contact between human and horse is immediate. This means direct closeness.
Holsteiner Verband Vermarktungs- und Auktions GmbH, together with breeder Hans-Joachim Ahsbahs, has decided to donate the proceeds from the auction of Trippeltrappel to the Expert Advisory Board for Therapeutic Riding within the Schleswig-Holstein Equestrian Association (Pferdesportverband Schleswig-Holstein e.V.) (PSH).
The Therapeutic Riding Donation Fund provides support to professionals in the purchase of therapeutic equipment, finances therapy sessions where funding is insufficient, supports projects run by schools and nurseries, leisure projects in the field of inclusion, and the further training of professionals. It also provides grants towards the purchase of therapy horses. In doing so, it makes an invaluable contribution to the use of horses as therapy partners in the social sector and supports the development of an inclusive society. Bidders and, in particular, buyers of Trippeltrappel can play their part in this.
