Tomorrow’s Champions by Holsteiner: 70,000 euros for a full sister to Uricas

The event hall at the Warendorf Riding and Driving Club was once again packed to capacity when auctioneer Hendrik Schulze Rückamp and Holsteiner auction director and managing director Felix Flinzer took to the podium. The second edition of Tomorrow’s Champions by Holsteiner – powered by DERBY horse feed – concluded with a top price of 70,000 euros.

This sum was paid by customers from Germany for the full sister of the Olympic stallion Uricas van de Kattevennen. The Kiss Way by Uriko-Cassini I (catalogue number 3) was bred and presented by Hartwig Schoof from Hedwigenkoog and sold to a buyer on the spot following a bidding war. Catalogue number 15, T-Jewel’s Touched by Untouchable-Dominard (Jewel Court Stud NV, Belgium), changed hands for 31,000 euros and will be based in Germany in future. The mare’s granddam is Ludger Beerbaum’s legendary Classic Touch, and she is closely related to the reigning European Champion, United Touch S (Richard Vogel). The hammer fell at 27,000 euros for catalogue number 19, True Legend by Chacco-Blue-Arezzo. Here, too, breeder Hartwig Schoof had reason to celebrate. His filly from the Cento line (Otto Becker) will also remain in Germany.

On average, buyers spent around 16,550 euros on the foals and a straw from Cassini I; the sales rate stood at 96 per cent. “I am delighted with this result, the excellent atmosphere in the hall and the fact that many foals were sold to interested buyers on the spot,” summarised Felix Flinzer. “I’m looking forward to the next edition next year; I’d like to thank the breeders and customers for their trust, and a very special thank you goes to the sponsors of this auction, in particular DERBY Pferdefutter, the organisers at the Warendorf Riding and Driving Club, my team and everyone involved!”
