Have you found your dream foal yet? If not, you’ll need to act fast, as the Holsteiner Online Foal Auction ends in just a few hours. Twenty-eight promising young horses are up for auction, and the real excitement begins at 6 pm with the ‘Bid-Up’.

“Going once, going twice, going three times” – what causes hearts to race and brings a sense of joy at in-person auctions is created at the Holsteiner Online Foal Auction through the so-called ‘bid-up’ process. This is because with every bid placed on a foal, the auction timer is extended by two minutes before the final lot is sold. And a glance at the collection certainly makes it worth persevering: 28 offspring of stallions such as Casall, Clarimo, Chacco-Blue and Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve are represented, as are those of Cornet’s Quaprice, Cahil and Crack. “Most of the candidates are late-born foals and confirm once again that Holstein breeders know how to think in terms of generations,” says marketing director Roland Metz. “The performance lines that have been nurtured for decades have produced very good offspring this year.” Current examples such as the eventing Bundeschampion Lillet by Livello-Calido I, who was sold at the 2020 Elite Riding Horse Auction, or the Secret-Lorentin I son Sullivan: He changed hands at the spring auction in April and finished second this weekend in the Riding Horse Championship at the Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg State Championships. It is therefore also worth taking a closer look at the dressage-oriented lots (catalogue numbers 18 and 22) in the current auction lot – before the bid-up begins today at 6 pm.
