Quite a few horses have left their hoofprints on this turf, their sporting success stories set to live on forever – at the German Show Jumping Derby in Hamburg. On Thursday, 29 May 2025, 13 more stories of Holsteiner foals will begin as they go under the hammer on this historic turf.
The collection for this high-calibre auction is now available to view online at www.holsteiner.auction. At around 12.20 pm on Ascension Thursday, the Derby Park will belong to the foals for the first time as they present themselves to the public live. At around 4.15 pm, right between two classes of the Five-Star Tour, the auction will then take place.
A gem from Hartwig Schoof’s renowned Holstein breeding stable enriches the collection as catalogue number 1: Twilight by Casall-Calvaro has none other than the full sister to Contendro I and II as her grandmother. This dam line has also produced the successful horses Chaka Chaka by Casall (Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann/GER), Caretano (Jos Lansink/BEL), N-Caretana BB by Caretino and many more besides. Just as special as his name is the pedigree of the colt with catalogue number 2: Not only does Unique descend from the Olympic horse Uricas v/d Kattevennen, but his dam and great-granddam are Goriana and Coriana from the famous van Klapscheut family – the highly decorated relatives of this prospective stallion could fill entire books. Also of great interest are the offspring by Zuccero, United Way, Diamant de Semilly, Million Dollar, Ermitage Kalone and others, who round off the lot.
