On Friday afternoon, 26 Holstein foals took to the Herbert-Blöcker-Platz and were put up for auction in a hybrid format. “The decision to move the auction to Friday afternoon has paid off, just as we’d hoped. Not only did we have a large number of spectators, but many customers also came to Elmshorn. And the hybrid auction format has once again proved its worth,” said Managing Director Roland Metz, expressing his satisfaction.
The top price of 15,500 euros was secured by buyers from Argentina. The filly in question is a daughter of Crack-Corrado, bred by Joachim Jürgens from Bollbrügge and from line 42B, who was aptly named Countess. This is because Mylene Nagels’ (Diedrichsmeier) successful horse of the same name, Countess, also hails from this dam line. Auctioneer Hendrik Schulze-Rückamp also brought the hammer down twice at 15,000 euros. Once for Cascais by Casall-Contender (Dr August Bartjen, Wacken) and once for Caspar by Cascadello I-Contender (Jens Böckenhauer, Bostedt).
In total, the successful bids generated a turnover of 251,400 euros. On average, customers – including the Maas J. Hell stud and the Grönwohldhof – paid around 9,700 euros for a foal.
