As part of the Holsteiner Horse Days, 14 foals were put up for auction on Saturday afternoon. The top price was achieved by catalogue number 3, United Million HaS by United Way-Dominator Z, whose granddam is a full sister to Million Dollar. The Hof am Sylvert-Rörden GbR from the island of Föhr is the breeder of the colt. Buyers from Hesse paid 14,000 euros for him.
Catalogue number 1, Zandro by Zuccero out of Cornet Obolensky, went for 13,500 euros. His granddam is none other than the 1.60-metre show jumper Goriana van Klapscheut. Stutsborg Youngster from Denmark presented Zandro. Auctioneer Hendrik Schulze Rückamp sold catalogue number 14 for 11,500 euros. Perfect Match, as the colt is named, is by Pegase van’t Ruytershof out of Contendro I and comes from line 2543, which is successfully maintained by the Thiedemann family in Oesterwurth.
On average, a foal cost around 9,200 euros, with a sale rate of 86 per cent.
