The countdown to the elite riding horse auction, themed ‘Holstein meets France’, is on. On Saturday, 26 October, at 6.00 pm, the first horse will enter the Fritz-Thiedemann-Halle and auctioneer Hendrik Schulze-Rückamp will take his place at the auctioneer’s podium.
On Friday evening, the 26 lots were presented to the public once again. Among them was catalogue number 127, Mr Mahony LA by Million Dollar-Corrado I. The five-year-old grey gelding is descended from the Holstein line 173; his granddam was the 1.60-metre show jumper Ayla (Filippo Marco Bologni/ITA). And Mr Mahony LA has already enjoyed success in show jumping classes. Catalogue number 106, Carto by Castle Creek out of Quinar, is also competition-proven. The five-year-old already has victories and placings to his name in show jumping classes up to Class L. And anyone looking for a diamond in the rough to train themselves should take a closer look at the three-year-olds in the collection. Take, for example, catalogue number 110, Charina by Chinchero–Corrado I from line 18A1. This bay mare impresses equally well both in free jumping and during her first jumps under saddle.
On Saturday morning, by prior arrangement, there will be another opportunity to trial ride the auction horses. In addition, the Holsteiner Autumn Event on Saturday will once again feature interesting elements of the stallion performance tests: both the three-year-olds taking part in the short aptitude test and the four- and five-year-olds will undergo the test under an outside rider. Shortly before the auction, the results for the saddle licensing candidates will be announced. Admission is free and ClipMyHorse.tv will be broadcasting a live stream.
