The Holsteiner elite riding horse auction sale at the autumn event “Holstein meets Italy” came to a close with the average price at about 40.000 Euros and four-year-old Nightwish by Nixon van het Meulenhof-Uriko the highest priced lot at 125,000 euros.
The scopey gelding bred by the Holsteiner Verband (Elmshorn) had already seen a lot of interest in the run-up to the auction and is to be based at the DOKR in Warendorf in the future. “I’m very happy that this highly talented horse will be given every opportunity for a successful career at top level sports”, says auction manager Felix Flinzer. The produce of Nightwish’s dam includes the Verband stallion, Zuccarello by Zuccero, and she is a half-sister to Crunch by Clarimo (Rolf-Göran Bengtsson) and to Dito by Diarado (Denis Lynch). The second-most expensive lot was United Way-Diarado daughter Maybe M, bred by the breeding partnership, ZG Meyn-Winder (Bimöhlen). Long-time clients from Italy invested 72,000 euros in the mare. She has already been shown and shares the immediate dam line with Jérôme Guéry’s (BEL) Olympic icon, Quel Homme de Hus by Quidam de Revel. The grey mare Miss Colman by Colman - Graf Grannus (August Stucke, Hodorf) was knocked down at 63.000 euros. She has already been placed through 1.30m level and will become the pride and joy of her new American owner. Cornelius by Cascadello I-Catoki (Bettina Friemel, Oyten) was worth 57,000 euros to his new owners. The five-year-old comes from a legendary Holsteiner family, as he traces back to no other than exceptional horse an Olympic gold medallist, Fein Cera by Landadel (Peter Wylde/USA), and has already won young horse jumping classes through 1,20m level. Qualified for the National Championships, Kai by Kannan-Carpaccio (Norbert Nowak, Haren/Ems) was knocked down at 50,500 euros to Columbian clients by auctioneer Hendrik Schulze-Rückamp. “Once again, clients from all over the world have secured valuable Holsteiner genes, with new clients from Berlin or rather Mallorca purchasing as much as three talents for Garau Sport Horses “, says Flinzer.
