The final Holsteiner foal auction of 2021 came to a close today as an online auction. Twenty-eight lots, most of them late-born foals, were offered for sale. “The filly foals from the proven Holsteiner performance lines were particularly sought-after,” said Marketing Manager Roland Metz.
“With seven foal auctions and over 160 foals on offer, 2021 was the strongest year to date for the Holsteiner Verband in terms of auctions,” Metz continued. “Establishing this event for late-born foals was an initiative that breeders welcomed: Over 70 entries for pre-selection suggest the event will continue next year.” Catalogue number 11, Dankeschön by Don VHP-Casall, changed hands to a Swiss buyer for 14,000 euros. b-Horses GmbH, managed by Fabian Kühl, is one of the regular customers at Holsteiner auctions and secured a highly interesting filly, catalogue number 14, Ophelia’s Legende by Q-Verdi-Clarimo, for 12,000 euros. Chaccon Amour AC by Chacco-Blue-Quidam de Revel (catalogue number 7) was also sold to new owners for 12,000 euros; he will remain in Germany. Catalogue number 28, Designer by Diarado-Cassini II, did not sell for 14,750 euros. On average, the foals cost around 7,660 euros. “That was a fitting conclusion to a successful year of foal auctions,” says Roland Metz, who is now focusing on the Elite Riding Horse Auction on 30 October. “Thanks to the hybrid and online auction formats, we were not only able to serve our regular customers but also attract a number of new ones – at this auction, for example, from New Caledonia in the South Pacific.”
