You’re probably eagerly awaiting the births of your foals right now, or perhaps one or more Holsteiner foals have already been born on your farm in 2024 – in either case, it’s worth giving some thought to the marketing options for your offspring in good time. Once again, the Holsteiner calendar features a number of top-class foal auctions this summer.
You can currently register foals for pre-selection for the auctions in Falsterbo (SWE) or Hörup:
The Springflut Festival in Hörup is an event organised with great attention to detail and an international flair. A foal auction will once again take place this year on the magnificent sand arena on Saturday 13 July.
With around 1,000 horses and riders and 50 classes across various disciplines, the Falsterbo Horse Show is one of Sweden’s most prestigious equestrian events and is also the country’s largest outdoor sporting event. Sport at the very highest level – a Holsteiner auction on Saturday 13 July 2024 fits perfectly into this setting.

Holsteiner Elite Foal Auction in Elmshorn on 24 August
You can now also register your offspring for pre-selection for the Holsteiner Elite Foal Auction on 24 August in Elmshorn. The pre-selection dates for this auction in Schleswig-Holstein will take place at the same time as the selection dates for an auction in Warendorf on 6 September. For breeders in the European licensing district, the selection for the Warendorf auction will take place on certain dates as part of the foal registration process – further information on this follows below.

Breeding and Marketing Hand in Hand
For the first time, a foal auction will take place in the extended breeding area during the National Championships in Warendorf on 6 September 2024. To select the foals, representatives from Vermarktungs GmbH and the Breeding Department have planned a joint tour of Germany. At the following venues, all breeders will be offered the opportunity for pre-auction selection with professional video recording, the registration of foals and mares, and qualification for a foal championship:

There will be a revised schedule at these venues:
1. The event begins with photo and video recordings by the marketing team.
2. Meanwhile, the Foal and Mare Commission will assess the foals, provide feedback afterwards and inform owners about participation in the championship.
3. This will be followed by registration, microchipping of the foals and registration of the mares.
4. Finally, the Foal Championship will take place.
Please ensure that the mare and foal are prepared for filming. Should the foal not be selected for the foal auction, every breeder will have the opportunity to purchase the photos and videos at a reasonable price.
