The 40th Holsteiner Spring Auction drew to a close this evening. The highest bid was secured for My Kanlina by Million Dollar-Kannan (Mike Patrick Leichle, Schnarup-Thumby). The five-year-old mare was one of the most striking horses in the collection and had already attracted considerable interest in the run-up to the auction. Buyers from Baden-Württemberg were willing to pay 44,500 euros for this athletic mare.
For 39,000, Alessandro Mingoli from Italy secured Cierana by Casall-Contendro I (Carsten Harms, Rastede), line 1752. The six-year-old mare – who has enjoyed success in show jumping up to 1.10 metres – has a prominent full brother in Cieran (Diarmuid Howley/IRL).
Two horses changed hands for 33,000 euros. One was Dincan E by Cancara-Caretino (Gerd Eggers, Stadum), line 5064. The four-year-old also boasts prominent bloodlines. His dam is the full sister to Cassandra Orschel’s Derby winner Dacara E, who also began her competitive career at a Holsteiner Verband spring auction. The other horse, Carlchen, cost 33,000 euros. The Chezarro-Cornetino son, line 2966, was born at Martin Zuba’s (Wesselburen) and will be trained for competition in future.
