You can still register your horses for the preliminary selection for the Elite Riding Horse Auction on 28 October 2023 at short notice. As part of the Holsteiner Autumn Event, which includes saddle inspections and sport tests for stallions, a select collection of riding horses will be put up for auction in Elmshorn.
JL Dublin by Diarado (Nicola Wilson/Tom McEwen), Camalita by Cracker Jack (Laura Klaphake) and Lord Lucio/ex. Herr Lucio (Rodrigo Pessoa) – they are all former Holsteiner auction horses who have made their mark in top-level sport. Caruso Bello by Cascadello I, now eight years old, is set to follow in their footsteps: as a premium stallion, he was sold at auction in 2017 to Alessandro Mingoli in Italy, where he initially made a name for himself with Giovanni Lucchetti (ITA) in young horse classes. At the Italian equivalent of the German Bundeschampionat, the stallion won the bronze medal in 2021. At the age of eight, he and Lucchetti have already secured placings at international level at the 1.45-metre height. Take advantage of this last-minute opportunity to enter your talented Holsteiners into the auction!

Holsteiners aged between three and eight years old, whose owners are members of the association, may be presented for pre-selection. At several events in August across the wider breeding region and three events in Schleswig-Holstein, the selection will focus on well-ridden, high-quality horses. The suitability of the horses for the auction will be assessed under saddle and in free jumping.
