To strengthen our team at our Elmshorn location, we are looking for a dedicated, horse-enthusiastic full-time employee for our accounting department. Holsteiner Verband Vermarktungs- und Auktions- GmbH is part of the Holsteiner Verband group of companies. The Holsteiner Verband is a traditional enterprise with the highest standards. Numerous top international sport horses and influential sires have been discovered at Holsteiner auctions. The GmbH organises around ten auctions per year and places 150 Holsteiner horses and foals from Holsteiner breeders into the wide world annually.

You will be involved in shaping your new workplace and can rely on the support of our experienced team.

Your responsibilities:

• You will independently manage accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger accounting
• You will draw up invoices in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) based on your sound knowledge and are confident in handling tax regulations.
• You will be responsible for payment transactions, receivables management and cash book accounting.
• You will prepare monthly VAT returns as well as monthly and annual financial statements including reporting
• You will maintain direct contact with our business partners at home and abroad, with proficiency in English being an advantage

Following an intensive induction period, your area of responsibility will expand:

• You will be responsible for the development and management of accounting and will lead the team.
• You will develop transparent and meaningful controlling and reporting for the management to support financial decisions based on data.

Your profile:

• You have successfully completed a commercial apprenticeship and have sound professional experience in financial accounting
• Your passion is the continuous improvement of the financial accounting system, making processes efficient and transparent.
• You are interested in the digital transformation of accounting.
• You know how to lead, motivate and develop a team while also handling operational tasks yourself.
• You work in a goal-oriented, structured and independent manner. A high degree of personal initiative and a strong affinity for numbers distinguish you.
• You are proficient in using DATEV and MS Office programmes, and working with complex Excel spreadsheets comes easily to you.
• You enjoy communicating with our Holsteiner breeders and business partners in an appreciative and competent manner.
