Nine Holsteiner mares took part in the second field test in Elmshorn on 5 May; in addition, numerous mares registered with the SH/HH Stud Book were guests at the association’s facilities to take their test. Four of the nine Holsteiner mares achieved a score of 8.0 or higher.

These included a daughter of Colore-Com Air, who finished with an overall mark of 8.50, and a dressage-oriented mare by Sir Donnerhall out of Aljano, who received an overall mark of 8.45. Also among them was a daughter of Million Dollar out of a Connor dam: she achieved a final mark of 8.16. The fourth mare achieved a final mark of 8.08 and is by Casall out of Cormint.

In order to assess each mare’s suitability even more accurately, the evaluation can be dressage- or show jumping-oriented – depending on what the mare’s entrant has specified on the entry form. For mares assessed with a focus on dressage, for example, greater weight is given to the basic gaits and rideability, whilst for mares assessed with a focus on show jumping, greater weight is given to free jumping. The final mark for the field test is derived from the weightings applied to the marks for the individual characteristics.
