Zino van Ekholt wins the Münster-Handorf sports competition

At the most recent sport test held under the old system in Münster-Handorf, a now five-year-old stallion achieved the best result in the test; he had already emerged as the top performer in last year’s sport test in Elmshorn: We are talking about Zino van Ekholt by Zinedream-Casall (Katja Claußen Brühe, Seeth), line 1859.

Peppi Dahlmann once again put the bay in the spotlight: the judges awarded a score of 9.0 on no fewer than two occasions, specifically for the five-year-old’s manner and overall impression. He even received a 9.5 for rideability. Zino van Ekholt ultimately achieved a weighted final mark of 8.96, with a focus on jumping. “A stallion who has shown himself to be very rideable and experienced in all his performances and who never loses sight of the jump,” the judges praised.

The two Holsteiner Association stallions, Union City by United Way-Connor (Alf Bartholomäus, Klein Offenseth), line 18A2, and Deichkind by Don VHP-Limbus (Rasmus Lüneburg, Hetlingen), line 8763, also achieved a distinctly good result under the saddle of Lucas Wenz: Union City finished with a weighted final mark of 8.71, with a focus on jumping, whilst Deichkind scored 8.64.

Below are all the results for Holsteiners at Münster-Handorf, regardless of their licensing status with the Holsteiner Verband. Stallions marked with * are not licensed by the Holsteiner Verband:

Information on the HLP:
With the start of the new year 2025, the revised format of the stallion performance test for riding horse stallions will also come into force. Accordingly, the separate sport tests for four- and five-year-old stallions will be discontinued in future and replaced by the HLP performance test and sporting successes at competitions.
