Gold and bronze went to Holsteiner horse breeding at the German Youth Eventing Championships in Kreuth.
Crowned as the new German Junior Champion in Kreuth were Nane Nikolaus Dehn and Zilia D by Corland-Mytens xx, bred by his grandfather Friedrich Dehn, Schwesing. C’est Evie by Caretino-Quintero (Horst Günter Kruse, Schönberg) claimed the bronze medal under Luke Vogelsänger. Carla Hanser finished fifth with Castagnola by Contender-Lancer II (Thomas May, Düsseldorf) ahead of Hanna Jensen with Eh Clara by Clarimo-Zünftiger xx (Gunhild Clausen, Langwedel)
Darcy F by Larimar-Esteban xx (Ferdinand Baumann, Kempen) placed eighth under Libussa Lübbeke in the CCI3* L, which also decided the German Young Rider Championships.
The general rehearsal for this year's European Championships took place in Avenches (Switzerland). In the CCI4* S, Cartania by Cartani-Clinton I (Günter Koch, Vollerwiek) placed tenth under Felix Vogg. In the CCI3* L, Herr Cooles Classico by Hosco-Corofino I (Christine Kortsch, Schulendorf), ridden by Beeke Jankowski, finished fourth.
Dajara by Carrico-Caretino (Jennifer Bardtke, Großjörl), ridden by Fouaad Mirza (IND) who rides for Sandra Auffarth, finished fourth in the CCIO4*-NC-S and second. The pair will now likely head on to the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Second place – in the CCI3* L – also went to Fortune III by For Fashion-Arystokrat AA (Dr. Klaus Gumpert, Grevenkop) under Italian rider Pietro Grandis, riding for Stall Jung. Watermill Dream of Taura by Timolino xx-Fleming (Elfriede Bornholdt, Moorege) finished tenth under Christoffer Forsberg (Sweden). Calle by Cristo-Quebec (Lutz Dechau, Nutteln) came fourth in the CCI3* S under Yoshiaki Oiwa (Japan), and Caramio by Canturo-Limbus (Adelbert Sporn, Jardelundfeld) finished sixth under Italian rider Giulio Guglielmi. In the CCIY3* L, Elsa’s Isabell by Ibisco xx-Landgraf I (Jochen Heins, Bimöhlen) placed fourth under Finnish rider Elmo Laiho.
