With the 2023 Sire Rankings, the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) has published the annual rankings for those sires in dressage, show jumping and eventing whose offspring have accumulated the most points for them through international successes.
In the show jumping ranking, Casall by Caretino-Lavall I (Wilfried Thomann, Drelsdorf), lineage 890, is listed in seventh place and Cardento by Capitol I-Lord (Reimer Witt, Wellinghusen), lineage 741, in eighth position.
Diarado by Diamant de Semilly-Corrado I (Klaus Kristensen, DEN), lineage 318D2, leads the eventing sire ranking. His most successful offspring is also registered in Holstein: this is the double European champion JL Dublin (dam's sire Canto) bred by Volker Götsche-Götze, lineage 1907. As is his third-strongest son by points, Dacapo (dam's sire Canturo, ZG Bock and Eggert). The stallion Contendro I by Contender-Reichsgraf (Manfred Birchler, SUI), lineage 104A, is listed in seventh place in the eventing sire ranking.
