WBFSH rankings: Holsteiner Verband in first and second place

The latest rankings from the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (May 2021) have recently been published. In the eventing category, the Holsteiner Verband ranks first, whilst in the show jumping breed associations’ rankings it occupies an outstanding second place.

The six most successful Holsteiner cross-country horses have amassed 884 points, putting them at the top of the studbook rankings. Specifically, these are:

  •  London by Landos-Quinar (193 points), who also secured first place in the breeders’ rankings for his breeder, Ocke Riewerts (Alkersum). Rider: Laura Colett (GBR)
  • Celebration by Chin Champ-Camillo Star (146 points), bred by Eckhard Reihs, Wallhoefen, ridden by Stuart Tinney (AUS)
  • Luke by Landos out of Limbus (142 points), bred by Georg Clausen, Rabenkirchen, ridden by Boyd Martin (USA)
  • Cartania by Cartani-Clinton (135 points), breeder: Günter Koch, Vollerwiek, rider: Felix Vogg
  • Diachello by Diarado out of Chello (134 points), Breeder: Thomas Visser, Dentlein, Rider: Jesse Campell (NZL)
  • Oskar by Coriando-Marlo (134 points), breeder: Ulrike Schwarz-Nissen, rider: Alyssa Philipps (USA)

The Holstein show jumpers scored a total of 3,319 points, securing second place behind the Selle Français stud book:

  • C Vier by Cardento-Concorde (710 points), breeder: W. Wolters, Netherlands, rider: David Will
  • VDL Cartello by Cartani-Lord (575 points), breeder: Witt Pferdezucht GbR, Wellinghusen, rider: Darragh Kenny
  • Bardolina by Clarimo-Landos (531 points), breeder: Ute Jürgensen, Sehestedt, rider: Mario Deslauries (CAN)
  • Con Quidam RB by Quinar-Cardino (513 points), breeder: ZG Bröcking, Borken, rider: Sanne Thijssen (NED)
  • Confu by Contact me-Cambridge (495 points), Breeder: Kai Gerken, Lasbek, Rider: Laura Kraut (USA)
  • Quel Homme de Hus by Quidam de Revel-Candillo, Breeder: Dr Andreas Kosicki, Berlin, Rider: Jerome Guery (BEL)
