Following the Holsteiner Horse Breeders’ Association e.V.’s had selected and honoured Volker Göttsche-Götze as Breeder of the Year, the Groß Buchwalder breeder was then invited by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) to the World Cup competition in Bordeaux (FRA), where he received further honours.
The reason for these numerous honours is the outstanding success of the Olympic team champion JL Dublin by Diarado-Canto (line 1907), bred by him. These achievements also ensure that Göttsche-Götze occupies the top spot in the 2024 WBFSH rankings among eventing breeders worldwide.
In its press release regarding the breeder’s honour at the World Cup competition, the WBFSH states: “The recipient of the Longines-WBFSH Eventing Breeder Award of the Year 2024 is Volker Göttsche-Götze, breeder of the talented Holsteiner gelding JL Dublin (by Diarado and out of a mare by Canto). He is proud to accept the Breeder of the Year award and thanks Longines for the recognition they bestow upon breeders. JL Dublin has achieved significant success on the international stage since 2021 and has repeatedly proved himself to be a reliable and versatile competitor. “He’s a ‘perfect championship horse’,” says McEwen, “who excels in dressage, cross-country and show jumping, and I feel privileged to ride him.”
