The Holstein breed secured third place in the prestigious CCI*****L at Burghley. Vitali by Contender-Heraldik xx (Günther Fielmann, Schierensee), ridden by New Zealander Tim Price, took third place following a very good dressage performance, one of the fastest rounds on the difficult cross-country course and – unfortunately – three knockdowns in the show jumping round. After the cross-country, Cola III by Catoki-Contender (Peter Böge, Schönhorst), ridden by Bubby Upton (GBR), had been in seventh place. Four knockdowns in the show jumping saw the silver medallists from the 2019 European Young Riders Championships drop back to 14th place
In the Five-Year-Olds’ Championship, Quintus by Quibery-Limbus, bred by Hobe Magens of Ottenbüttel and who had moved to Nicola Wilson’s stables following the Neumünster Elite Auction, took fifth place under Robyn Gray. In the four-year-olds’ class, a son of Clarksville, bred in Great Britain, took the win.
