Meeting of the stallion owners’ representatives in Elmshorn

Last week, the Stallion Keepers' Representative Body* met in Elmshorn. Topics of the meeting included innovations in stallion performance tests, a review of the first Holsteiner Week in February, as well as plans for upcoming events and the preparation of the delegates' assembly in June.

Sixteen stallion keepers attended the meeting and participated in the exchange concerning the licensing date and the format of the licensing event itself. As part of an opinion poll, the majority of those present spoke in favor of a stallion jumping competition as part of the licensing. Divided by birth years, this would provide a platform for already licensed stallions as well as giving breeders and interested parties the opportunity to view numerous stallions in one place. A working group has been formed for further discussion and planning of potential joint events for the stallion keepers, which will meet again in April.

In addition, as stipulated in the statutes, the stallion keepers' representative body made three and two proposals respectively for the election of the members of the licensing and arbitration committees, which is due to take place during the delegates' assembly in June 2023. The following individuals were proposed for the licensing committee and are also available for election: Matthias Wittke, Dirk Ahlmann, Carsten Lauck; The following individuals were proposed for the arbitration committee and are also available for election: Jan Pierre Fromberger, Christian Schröder;

*As stipulated in the statutes of the Association of Breeders of the Holsteiner Horse (Verband der Züchter des Holsteiner Pferdes e.V.) (A12 section 2.1), the stallion keepers' representative body consists of members who own at least one stallion entered in the Verband's studbook in stallion book I, as well as the managing director of the Verband's stallion holding GmbH (A16 section 2.1), the chairman or another member of the board, and the breeding director.
