On Friday morning, the show jumping arena at the Burandtwiese was reserved for the ‘alumni’ of the Bundeschampionat. An S* show jumping class, with a height of 1.40 metres, was organised for eight-year-old and older horses that had previously competed in the Bundeschampionat at least once.
Here, the Holstein mare Viva las Vegas W by Vagabond de la Pomme-Cancara (Matthias Wittke) came out on top. Sophie Hinners was in the saddle for the fastest clear round (0/64.24), which would also have deserved a style prize. This was, incidentally, just as it was two years ago when the grey mare won the bronze medal in the six-year-olds’ classification.

Seven-year-old show jumpers
The seven-year-olds completed the second qualifier (1.40 metres) at midday. Several Holsteiners secured places in the top ranks here: second place went – as it did on Tuesday – to Brilliant Balou S by Balou du Rouet–Carolus II (Davy Moreels), ridden by Greta Reinacher, whilst third place was secured by Cabal VA by Casall–Q-Verdi (Manfred von Allwörden) and Diarmuid Howley.
