Day 2 of the National Championships: Taggi wins the six-year-olds’ class

On Wednesday, the five- and six-year-old show jumpers took to the arena for the first time. In the six-year-olds’ qualifier, numerous Holsteiners played a decisive role. Leading the way was Taggi by Calido-Acobat II, bred by Ilse Hell and owned by Beerbaum Stables in Riesebeck. The Irish rider Ciaran Nallon was in the saddle of the grey mare, who won one of the three sections of the 129-strong field. The judges awarded the pair a score of 8.9 for their performance. Close behind (8.8) was the licensed stallion Master of Paradise by Manchester of Paradijs-Catoki (Alina Hinzmann), presented by Patrick Döller. Third place (8.6) went to Britta Wittenbrink and her home-bred Diathino W by Diathago-Caretino.

In addition, the following Holsteiners made it into the top ten:

· Petra del Pierre by Comme il faut out of Quirado (Peter Diedrichsen) and Pheline Ahlmann, 4th place (8.6)

· Uniper MK by United Touch S-Diarado (Manfred Keysers) and Matthias Gering, 4th place (8.6)

· Chavaros II by Charleston out of Con Air (Reimer Detlef Hennings) and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, 4th place (8.6)

· Madara by Million Dollar-Centurion (Michael Rump) and Lina Renström, 5th place (8.5)

· Nightwish by Nixon v/h Meulenhof-Uriko (Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH), 5th place (8.5)

· Don’s Clariquada T by Don-Clarimo (Marc Tummes) and Hendrik Dowe, 7th place (8.4)

· Tacord by Taloubet-Acord II (Jörg Kröger) and Marvin Jüngel, 10th place (8.3)

· Mr. Million by Millon Dollar-Caah and Carry (Jörg Carstensen) and Teike Friedrichsen, 10th place (8.3)

On Wednesday afternoon, 85 five-year-olds competed in a Class M show jumping class. In a strong field, two Holsteiners secured joint fourth place. One was Manni by Manchester van’t Paradijs-Chin Champ (Jürgen König), ridden by Arne van Heel, and the other was Umbertco HCS by United Way-Canto (Helene Catharina Schulz), ridden by Teike Friedrichsen. Both pairs were awarded a score of 8.7.

In addition, the following five-year-old Holsteiners placed in the top ten:

· Capocino by Cornet’s Quaprice out of Quiwi Dream (Carsten Lauck) and David Will, 5th place (8.6)

· Union City by United Way out of Connor (Als Bartholomaeus) and Lucas Wenz, 8th place (8.4)

· Deichkind by Don-Limbus (Rasmus Lüneburg) and Arne van Heel, 10th place (8.3)

· Nero by Nabab de Reve-Clearway (Darius Zand) and Tobias Clar, 10th place (8.3)
