In the Bordesholm licensing district, a daughter of Cascadello I out of a Contender-Quinar dam (breeder: Jens Böckenhauer, Boostedt) has qualified for the Association Mare Show in Elmshorn.

This was the final entry deadline with selection for the Association Mare Show in Schleswig-Holstein. On Sunday, 11 June 2023, the mares that have qualified within their licensing districts for this ‘Show of the Best’ will compete for the titles of Holsteiner Dressage Champion Mare 2023 and Holsteiner Show Jumping Champion Mare 2023. From 9.00 am, they will therefore be presented at Herbert-Blöcker-Platz. Spectators are, of course, warmly invited and will receive a free catalogue featuring the entered mares at the Holsteiner Shop on site. Admission is free.
Good to know: How does mare registration work?
In all selection districts, a committee carries out the registration of the mares. After being measured, the three- and four-year-old mares are presented in-hand and at a free walk in the hall. Once around ten mares have been presented, they form a ring in which the district premium mares are awarded and the association premium mares are selected. The next group of mares is then presented in the hall and the process is repeated until all mares have been registered.
Only the mares selected for the final ring need to remain at the registration area; all other mares are released after their registration. Following registration, all selected mares competing for a place at the Association Mare Show in Elmshorn (11 June 2023) are presented once more in the final ring. This is where the final selection takes place.
