Over the past two weeks, 21 mares have been trained in Elmshorn as part of this year’s second stage test. On Tuesday 2 May 2023, the final test for this round will take place at the Association’s grounds at Westerstraße 93. Spectators are warmly invited to watch the test from 1.00 pm.
Station test at the Holsteiner Verband
During a station test, three- and four-year-old mares are stabled for 14 days in Elmshorn on the grounds of the Holsteiner Verband. On the day of arrival, the mares must be presented to the test supervisor by their own riders. During the 14-day training period, the horses are further trained by a team of expert riders and trainers until their final test. In addition to the assessment of the basic gaits, rideability and free jumping, temperament traits – summarised as a mark for the characteristic ‘willingness to perform and handling’ – are also part of the test.
