At the May Market Competition in Mannheim, Richard Vogel had several Holsteiner horses under the saddle with whom he was unbeatable: With Never Walk Alone by Numero Uno-Mytens xx (Casper von Rumohr, Hemmelsdorf), strain 7126, he won the 1.50-metre show jumping competition. Just a few days later, the pair were also to win a 1.50-metre class in Redefin and the Grand Prix on Sunday. With Lesson Peak by Lord Z-Cash and Carry (Matthias Ketelsen, Silberstedt), strain 4779, he also excelled in the 1.45-metre competition. And another horse with Holsteiner papers excelled all round with Richard Vogel in the saddle: He already rode Charisma HS by Uriko-Cassito (Christoph Schmidt, Ober-Mörlen), strain 503, to the title of Federal Champion of five-year-old show jumpers back in 2019 – now the pair have long since arrived in the advanced class, impressing in Mannheim with third place in a 1.40-metre show jumping competition. The chestnut mare belongs to former Olympic rider Hugo Simon, who bought her due to her interesting pedigree: Simon's interest was piqued when he learned that she is a Uriko daughter. His sire Untouchable goes back to the Selle Française stallion Hors de la Loi II, ridden by Hugo Simon, with whom he was successful up to three-star level. "I had hopes for a talented show jumper, which is why I went to look at the mare – and immediately realised: This is an exceptional horse!" Richard Vogel's stablemate David Will also won a 1.45-metre young horse show jumping class in Mannheim with Carthage by Cascadello I-Carthago (Michael Schwarzfischer, Kleinostheim), strain 18B1.

In Redefin, a Calido I-Landadel offspring lived up to its name: Can Jump (Nina Heyer, Hamburg) from strain 776 won a 1.40-metre class, with Marvin Jüngel in the saddle. Coming in third in this competition were Cedric by Clarimo-Concerto II (Jens Ritters, Krumstedt), strain 730B, and Sven Gero Hünicke from the island of Fehmarn.

Let’s Dance by Lancer II-Contender (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), strain 318D2, and his trainer Sandra Auffarth finished the CCI4*-S in an outstanding fifth place. The gelding started his sporting career in Schleswig-Holstein under Marina Köhncke and her former trainee Kari Ingrid Gunzenhäuser and has now arrived at international top level – and is definitely a championship candidate for Auffarth. Casino by Casillas-Claudio (Behrend Jacobs, Ostenfeld), strain 1020, and Dirk Schrade finished in sixth place.

And there were also Holsteiner victories to report abroad: With Chesall Zimequest by Casall-Concerto II (Günter Schüder, Bahrenfleth), strain 1120, and Simon Delestre (FRA), a well-known successful pair continue to make headlines: They won a 1.50-metre show jumping competition in Grimaud/St. Tropez.

In Ornago, Italy, the dressage horses danced through the arena this weekend, with Total Ideal by Totilas-Loutano (Hans Reisinger, Wolnzach), strain 5302, and Austrian rider Christian Schuhmach placing second in the Grand Prix with a score of just over 74 percent.
