Whether at the German Eventing Championships in Luhmühlen, the Grand Prix of Gorla Minore or the Future Champions competition in Hagen – Holsteiner horses from all over the world once again secured outstanding placings for their riders.
A four-star event, including the German Championships, was held in Luhmühlen this weekend. Casino by Casillas – ridden by Claudio Behrend Jacobs from Ostenfeld (line 1020) and Dirk Schrade – galloped their way to the silver medal. They had already delivered a very good performance in the dressage, incurred only a few time penalties in the cross-country and remained clear in the final show jumping.
Holstein duo top the Grand Prix at Gorla Minore: In Gorla Minore, Italy, Carpe Diem J&F Champblanc by Casall-Concerto II (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), line 238, and Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) won the 1.50-metre Grand Prix. Another Holsteiner followed in second place: Lord Mexx by Larimar-Coriano (Hans Bock, Quickborn), line 1811, was ridden by Angelos Touloupis (GRE)
In Hagen, Mick Haunhorst and Clarimo’s Girl by Clarimo-Cantus (Michael Heinz, Waldbronn), line 5064, were part of the German team of victorious U18 riders. The Future Champions in Hagen is not only the only junior Nations Cup competition in Germany, but also a selection event for the European Championships in the respective age groups. That is why the focus on the European Championships also plays a major role for the national coach: “The pairs in the Nations Cup showed themselves to be in good form and have also put themselves in the spotlight for the European Championships with confident performances.”
C-Jay (Hobe Bernhard, Kollmar), a son of Carthago Contender, line 318D2, and Johannes Ehning won a 1.45-metre class at the CSI3* in Lichtenvoorde (NED). In a 1.50-metre competition, Hope Street by Casall-Quick Nick I (Barbara Tenge-Rietberg), line 4847, and Lucas Porter (USA) also took bronze.
