They are continuing their winning streak: after Nerrado by Nekton-Acorado (Uwe Krohn, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog), line 104A, and Hannes Ahlmann had already secured the German Championship title last year, they have now taken first place in the U25 Show Jumping Cup round at Horses&Dreams in Hagen. The prestigious junior series is contested as an S***-level competition with a jump-off. “I couldn’t have imagined a better day,” admitted Hannes Ahlmann from Reher after his ride. The 20-year-old had travelled to Hagen with two horses, Nerrado and Caracas by Casall-Cassini I (Jürgen Böge, Bunsoh), line 844. Riding the mare, Ahlmann finished second and fifth in the qualifying classes. However, to qualify for the final, he had to choose just one horse and opted for his long-standing competition partner Nerrado – and his gut feeling paid off. The first qualifying round for the series final was also won by Casalia R by Casall-Loran (ZG Redderberg, Ahrensbök), line 1907, and Robin Naeve.
Casallvano (ZG Stall Burgard, Bechhofen), a son of Casall-Silvano from line 741, and Daniel Deusser have now been a team for around ten months and have already completed many clear rounds on challenging courses. “In the jump-off, though, I always felt something was missing,” said Deusser. In ’s-Hertogenbosch at the Dutch Masters, however, everything fell into place and the world number two, together with the bay horse – who began his career in Schleswig-Holstein under Linn Hamann – triumphed over 1.55 metres.
In the Rüder family on Fehmarn, it is customary for a successful horse owned by the parents to also be made available to the children. For example, Mathies Rüder became the 2019 German Youth Champion in the Children’s show jumping class with Latigo by Lasino-Contender (ZG Lüneburg, Hetlingen), line 18B1. His mother, Petra, had previously become German Amateur Champion with the same horse.
Riding Chicago M by Clarimo-Casall (Ferdinand Moss, Meppen), line 8780, his father Kai Rüder enjoyed international success in show jumping up to 1.50 metres; now Mathies Rüder is in the saddle of the bay horse and has won an S* show jumping competition in Elmshorn.
She has a soft spot for talented Holsteiners: Giulia Martinengo Marquet (ITA) has ridden Casper vd Rode Poelhoeve by Casall-Quinar (Klaus Thiedemann, Oesterwurth), line 2543, and has enjoyed great success in show jumping up to 1.60 metres, frequently securing top placings at international level. With Calle Deluxe by Cesano II-Con Air (Karl-Ernst Kruse-Sönke, Kollmar), line 18B1, she has another Holsteiner in her stable who has won a 1.45-metre competition in Gorla Minore (ITA).
