Breeders, riders and horse enthusiasts accepted the Holsteiner Verband’s invitation to attend the stallion presentation at the association’s grounds in Elmshorn. Around 25 privately owned and association-owned stallions provided a varied overview of the current stallion stock and offered valuable insights for the upcoming breeding season.
“The event demonstrated just how well our Holsteiner breeding programme is positioned overall. When privately owned and association stallions appear side by side, the focus is not on competition, but on quality, diversity and a shared goal: to secure the future of Holsteiner breeding at the highest level,” says breeding director Stephan Haarhoff with confidence.
At lunchtime, many visitors took the opportunity to have a ‘chat in the stable lanes’. In a relaxed atmosphere, visitors were able to view the stallions up close and engage in in-depth discussions with stallion owners and organisers. This direct exchange was particularly appreciated by the guests.
The stallions then took to the arena under saddle and impressed with their sporting performance. Representatives from renowned stud farms – including Schockemöhle, Dirk Ahlmann, Rödl, Völz, Fromberger, as well as Gut Schönweide and Hengsthaltungs GmbH from Elmshorn – presented a diverse and high-quality selection.
For example, the six-year-old Challasco Blue PS by Chacoon Blue-Casallco, presented by Patrick Stühlmeyer, was met with enthusiastic applause. The five-year-old Explosion by Eldorado v/d Zeshoek–Contender (cover photo) also shone under his breeder, Rasmus Lüneburg. United Pleasure by United Way–For Pleasure (Rita Siebke-Baasch, Sarzbüttel), ridden by Lucas Wenz, who represented the Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH, also put in a convincing performance.

The three- and four-year-old sires also attracted a
great deal of attention – in some cases making their first public appearances under saddle. These included the four-year-old Bambam du Rouet P by Baloubet du Rouet–Colman (Timm Peters, Bargenstedt) ridden by Jan-Pierre Fromberger, or the same-aged Corminator by Cornet Obolensky–Cassini I, a half-brother to Dominator Z, who was presented by Thea Jelcic on behalf of the Völz stud.
Henner Hoeschen guided the audience through the programme with charm and expertise. With in-depth explanations of pedigrees, sporting achievements and breeding prospects, he provided visitors with valuable background information and guidance for breeding decisions. With its successful combination of information, sporting demonstrations and personal interaction, the stallion presentation proved to be an important meeting place for breeders and riders, as well as a successful start to the 2026 breeding season.
