The 72nd edition of the CHIO Rotterdam (NED) concluded on Sunday evening with the CSIO5* Grand Prix over 1.60 metres, and Sanne Thijssen (NED) effectively celebrated a home victory. Her riding partner was Con Quidam RB by Quinar-Cardino (ZG Bröcking, Borken), line 1446. As the first rider to compete in the jump-off, the 23-year-old had a tough start, but she kept her nerve and none of her rivals managed to beat her lightning-fast time.

The association-owned stallion Zuccero was also in top form in Rotterdam: second and third places went to the grey son of Zirocco Blue by Caretino, bred by Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf (line 4539), took second and third place in 1.45-metre classes under Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.

At the five-star show in Rotterdam, Casallvano by Casall-Silvano (Stall Burgard), line 741, and Daniel Deusser (GER) won a 1.50-metre show jumping class. The bay horse began his competitive career with Linn Hamann in Schleswig-Holstein, was then ridden by Marco Kutscher, before moving to Daniel Deusser’s Stephex Stables in Belgium. The pair have already enjoyed success this year in Valkenswaard, Madrid and ’s-Hertogenbosch. Third place in this class also went to Cochella by Cartani-Lord (Karsten Voss, Heinkenborstel), line 1298, and Angelie von Essen (SWE).

Nerrado by Nekton-Acorado I (Uwe Krohn, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Kroog), line 104B, and Hannes Ahlmann were unbeatable at the three-star CSI Hof Waterkant show. They claimed victory in the Grand Prix of the competition, which was held for the first time at the facilities of Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and her husband Christoph. Hope Street by Casall-Quick Nick I (Barbara Tenge-Rietberg), line 4847, and Lucas Porter from the USA finished the class in third place.
