Quel Homme de Hus (Dr Andreas Kosicki, Berlin), a son of Quidam de Revel and Candillo, line 4847, has won the Grand Prix in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, ridden by Jérôme Guéry (BEL). “Quel Homme put in two phenomenal rounds and gave us the perfect Sunday,” writes Guéry on his Facebook page. Larisal by Larimar-Casall (Ernst Eggers, Struvenhütten), line 223B, also claimed victory in a Grand Prix over 1.50 metres: With Urh Baumann (SLO) in the saddle, he produced the only clear round in the jump-off in Vilamoura, Portugal. Both horses thus added over 12,000 euros each to their career prize money.
At the U25 competition in Darmstadt-Kranichstein, the For Fashion-Calido I daughter Classic Fashion (Lutz Dechau, Nutteln), ridden by Celine Frieß, finished first in a 1.40-metre show jumping class. Cutest Tabou by Clinton I-Quintero (Klaus Wilhelm Gehrts, Zennhusen-Hemme), line 2383, ridden by Hannah-Michelle Wilken, took second place in this competition and also finished top in another difficult show jumping class.
As recently as last year, Never Walk Alone by Numero Uno-Mytens xx (Casper von Rumohr, Timmendorfer Strand), line 7126, was successful up to 1.60 metres under David Will (GER), but his business partner Richard Vogel (GER) has now taken over the bay. And with him, he won a 1.45-metre show jumping competition in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain. In Lier (BEL), the Diamant de Semilly–Cento daughter Cristel (Ronald Nowee, Netherlands), line 18A2, also took the top spot in a 1.45-metre competition under the Belgian rider Max Sebrechts.
In Wellington (USA), Amsterdam by Catoki-Acord II (Sönke Petersen, Behrendorf), line 741, and his new rider Teddy Vlock (ISR) won a 1.45-metre show jumping competition together for the first time. Amsterdam entered the sport in Schleswig-Holstein under Marten Witt, enjoyed many years of great success under Mario Deslauriers (CAN) up to 1.60 metres, and was sold at the end of last year.
