At the Holsteiner licensing from 9-11 February 2023, medication controls were carried out on all licensed stallions. As a result, a positive substance finding was returned for the stallion Deejay by Dominator Z – Caretino with catalogue number 45. In accordance with the statutes, the licensing verdict was revoked, a three-month suspension imposed and disciplinary proceedings initiated.

Subsequently, the responsible laboratory corrected the original finding due to a processing error. In order to fully and legally clarify the new facts, the responsible parties of the Holsteiner Verband decided to subject the stallion's blood samples to re-examination by a second laboratory. The contract laboratory of the German Equestrian Federation in Cologne evaluated the sample again and came to a negative finding. Consequently, the positive licensing verdict of the stallion Deejay by Dominator Z – Caretino is reinstated, the imposed suspension lifted and the disciplinary proceedings discontinued.
