21 of the 74 pairs in the individual qualifying round for the Paris Olympics completed the course without any faults, not a single one of them from Germany. However, the stallion Uricas v/d Kattevennen by Uriko-Cassini I (Otto Boje Schoof, Hedwigenkoog), line 1916, and Harrie Smolders (NED) managed to do so – they qualified comfortably (in fourth place) for the individual final.
This will take place on Tuesday, 6 August, from 10.00 am for the top 30 pairs. The association stallion Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, under the saddle of Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE). A minor fault – so minor that it was barely visible during the live broadcast – prevented him from reaching the individual final by the narrowest of margins (32nd place).
