Nickel is German champion; bronze for Cody and Lovelight

With a start-to-finish victory, Julia Krajewski in Luhmühlen crowned herself German Eventing Champion with Nickel by Numero Uno-Lorentin (stem 4303). The gelding was bred by Hindrick Stüvel from Rosengarten. Nickel’s owner Professor Dr. Bernd Heicke, who was present in Luhmühlen and witnessed the first German Championship title of the 13-year-old Holsteiner who had finished eleventh at the Olympic Games in Paris last year with Julia Krajewski, was also overjoyed. „Nickel was absolute top class. He just wants to do well. He has so much heart, he has so much attitude. I’m newly in love with my horse,“ the 36-year-old summarised to Buschreiter.de

The German Championships were held as part of the Longines Balve Optimum. In the women’s competition, Mylen Kruse won the bronze medal. She was in the saddle of the Holsteiner stallion Lovelight by Lord Z-Lordship (Michael Eitel, Freihung), stem 18A2. The pair remained clear until the decisive jump-off, where they had to concede defeat to Stephie de Boer and Sophie Hinners. Cody and Rene Dittmer also return home with a bronze medal in the German Championship. The son of Casall out of a Quidam de Revel dam was born at Sören von Rönne’s in Neuendeich and represents stem 8900. „These were the hardest classes Cody has jumped so far, so I am very satisfied,“ said Rene Dittmer.

In the Championship of Balve, a 1.45-metre jumping class on Saturday evening, a Holsteiner took the lead. Following an exciting jump-off, Sophie Hinners and Munin by Mylord Carthago-Chin Chin were presented with the golden rosette. Just like Lovelight, Munin was bred by Michael Eitel. Second place went to Dante by Darco de Revel-Casco (Sven Völz, Bienenbüttel), stem 730B, and Armin Schäfer Jr. The former Bundeschampion Dax by Dinken-Corrado I (Dirk Georg Jessen, Jardelund), stem 8793, has also arrived at international level. Jumping under the Mexican flag, the nine-year-old placed fourth with Tanimara Maria Macari Carillo. Seventh place was secured by Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), stem 4539, and his new rider Maximilian Weishaupt. Lining up in ninth rank were Canmore by Casall-Contender (Birgit Becker, Metelen), stem 18A2, and Markus Renzel.

In the U25 Show Jumping Cup, Hannes Ahlmann once again held all the winning cards. With Tokyo by Toulon-Cassini (Jürgen Böge, Bunsoh), stem 7492, he won the first competition, and placed third with Coquetto by Cornet Obolensky-Cosquetto (Witt Pferdezucht GbR), stem 2067. And with Petit Prince HD by Catoki-Caretino (Max Detelfs, Wrohm), stem 776, another Holsteiner achieved a very good placing in fifth position, ridden by Felizitas Judith. In the second class of the U25 Show Jumping Cup, Hannes Ahlmann then emerged victorious with Coquetto. Coquetto and Hannes Ahlmann also prevailed in the final competition. Furthermore, Leila Bingold and Christof by Christian-Cassini II (Anette Horst, Oldersbek), stem 776, placed fifth.
