The show jumping qualifiers took place on Thursday and today. With consistently outstanding performances, the four- to seven-year-old up-and-coming talents have already impressively demonstrated what they are capable of.
The four-year-olds kicked things off. Here, Massimo Bonomi, the new rider for the Holsteiner Verband’s Hengsthaltungs GmbH, went on to win both classes. Riding Charaktervoll by Comme il Faut (cover photo, Manfred von Allwörden), he secured victory in the first class with a score of 9.2, and with Dubliner by Dinken (photo below, Philipp Freier) and a score of 8.8, he won the second class. Coming second in each class were Cahil by Cornet Obolensky (Manfred von Allwörden/8.5) with Maximilian Gräfe and Chauvet VA by Chopin (Manfred von Allwörden/8.4) with Diarmuid Howley, Cece la vie by Cascadello I (Hans-Peter Löding Hasenkamp/8.4) and Cassandra Orschel, as well as Diarmuid Howley once again with Quintino LMK (Leonie Kock/8.4). In the first division, three third places were also awarded for a score of 8.3. These went to Jan-Pierre Fromberger and his two horses, Master Chambertin by Manchester van’t Paradijs (Christian Schröder) and Vermicelle b by Vagabond de la Pomme (Hans-Jürgen Franck), as well as Alexandra Langer and LP Big City Life by Brantzau (Markus Popp Pferdemanagement).
The five-year-old show jumpers were also divided into two groups. With a score of 8.8, the OS stallion Asterix de Couleur by Aganix de Signeur (photo below, Hartwig Schoof) took the top spot in the Class L show jumping class.
Just behind him came Diamant de Operette VA by Diamant de Semilly (photo below, Manfred von Allwörden) with a score of 8.7 and victory in the second section for Diarmuid Howley. Second place went to Don Perpignon B by Dio Cabrio (Britta Braunert/8.6), ridden by the breeder’s daughter Anna, and to Thea Jelcic and Intschuschuna SV by Brantzau (Sven Völz/8.6). Third place was awarded five times, all with a score of 8.5. These went to Cascon VA by Cascadello (Manfred von Allwörden) and Diarmuid Howley, Svetlin Ivanov and Jenna VA by Diamant de Semilly (Manfred von Allwörden), Sven Otto and Crusea by Casquetto (Witt Pferdezucht GbR), Marten Witt and Diemaco by Diarado (Witt Pferdezucht GbR) and, once again, Diarmuid Howley and Cousin by Cornet Obolensky (Joachim Schiedel).
The six-year-old show jumpers competed in an M* class show jumping competition, which was also ranked across two divisions. With a score of 9.0, Caillan by Casall (photo below, Gerd Ohlsen), ridden by Antonia Selina Brinkop, took first place in the first section, whilst Crack by Cornet Obolensky (photo below, Campos Cria de Caballos de Deporte), ridden by Maximilan Gräfe, took second place in the second section with a score of 8.8.
Second place went to Andreas Erni and Riscalino by Riscal (Harm Sievers, 8.6) and Sara Karstens with Hanne by Crunch (Karum Abdel Fattah/8.5). Three third places were secured by: Highlight S by Connor (Martin Schönfeld/8.4) and Philipp Battermann, Conditus by Cayado (Hobe Magens/8.4) and Jessica Magens, and Hoheit by Casall (Kirsten and Olaf Roerden/8.4) and Jan Meves.
The seven-year-olds had already completed their qualification on Thursday in the M** class. Chanio by Carvallo BB (photo below, ZG Lüneburg) with Sven Gero Hünicke in the saddle, ahead of Castle Creek by Casall (Silke Zuba) ridden by Maximilian Gräfe, and ahead of Castor by Casall (Johannes Hansen), whom Christian Hess also guided clear of faults through the course.
