National Championships: Chacfire soars to victory in the five-year-old show ...

The sporting highlight on the final day of the 2026 Holsteiner Horse Days was the afternoon’s regional championships for five- and six-year-old show jumpers.

The North German weather made things difficult for some of the young horses at times, and favourites from the qualifiers were occasionally rattled by the strong wind. Not so for Chacfire by Chacfly-Levisto, who had already received the highest score in the qualifier. With scores of 9.0 and 8.8 from two rounds, the chestnut stallion triumphed under the saddle of Tjade Carstensen and was bred by his father, Jörg. “Chacfire put in an ideal performance today. Blessed with excellent reflexes, he always jumps away from the top rail whilst remaining relaxed,” said the judges, praising the new champion of the five-year-olds. Tjade Carstensen, whose birthday it was today, had his hands full with three starts in the final – he also rode his horse Keystone by Kannan-Quinar, bred by his grandmother Margit Petersen, to fourth place.

Donatella by Don and Karina Leichle

After two commanding rounds, Donatella by Don-Canvaro (Matthias Ketelsen), ridden by Karina Leichle, was crowned reserve champion. “A horse that was presented with absolute consistency, has a good point of drive and bascules perfectly,” said Hubert Uphus from the panel of judges. They awarded scores of 8.8 and 8.6. Silver!

Explosion RL by Eldorado v/d Zeshoek and Rasmus Lüneburg

The bronze medal was secured by Explosion RL by Eldorado v/d Zeshoek-Contender. Rasmus Lüneburg presented the licensed stallion, bred by his parents Karin and Jan. The large-framed bay impressed with plenty of ability and composure in both rounds.
