The young stallion licensing is the biggest event in the breeding calendar. This year, the event will be held from 28 to 30 October at the Holstenhallen in Neumünster. Ahead of this, the pre-selection of stallions born in 2019 for this year’s licensing will take place from 6 to 11 September 2021. Around 210 horses have been entered for the pre-selection.
From 8.30 am on each pre-selection day, the stallions will be presented in Elmshorn in their pre-assigned groups, which usually consist of four to five horses. You can view the exact timetable and the individual groups below. In accordance with the timetable, the stallions will be presented to the commission both on solid ground, led by the hand in a bridle, and running and jumping freely in the indoor arena. Following the pre-selection, breeders will receive written notification of the decision regarding admission to the licensing event.
“We are very much looking forward to the pre-selection in Elmshorn,” said breeding director Stephan Haarhoff. “Some sires, such as Crack, Corniolo, United Way and Sandro Junior, will be presenting their first crop of young stallions – we are eagerly awaiting all the horses.” Spectators are permitted provided they comply with the 3G rule (recovered, vaccinated or tested).
