As with all events during these unusual times, strict social distancing and hygiene rules will, of course, also apply to the upcoming Holsteiner licensing and Elite Auction. For Wednesday (28 October), this means that, unfortunately, no spectators will be able to attend the trial free jumping, which is popular amongst insiders. This is because the event does not officially begin until Thursday, and the approved hygiene plan is therefore only valid from 29 October 2020. The checks associated with the hygiene plan will therefore only come into effect from the official start of the event. The organisers at the Holsteiner Verband ask for your understanding that the bureaucratic effort required to allow spectators on Wednesday is simply not feasible this year. “We do not want to jeopardise the licensing and auction under any circumstances by failing to comply with the rules,” says breeding director Dr Thomas Nissen, explaining the decision.
The good news is: On Thursday – when the young stallions will be presented in the open air on the triangular arena – admission is free and spectators are expressly welcome. However, face coverings must be worn throughout the entire Holstenhalle grounds.
In addition, ClipMyHorse will, of course, be broadcasting the entire event live, so that anyone who cannot or does not wish to attend the Holsteiner Licensing and Auction in person this year will have the opportunity to follow everything.
