Keaton HV and Arne van Heel win the Warendorf Grand Prix

Friday at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf and the first decision in the jumping arena has been made – and what a decision: In an exciting jump-off, literally down to the very last fence, the Grand Prix of Warendorf (tour for eight-year-olds and older) was decided.

And victory went to a Holsteiner Verband stallion: Keaton HV by Kannan-Contendro I (breeder: Rudolf Schmitt) already impressed the expert audience in Warendorf during the first round, and his rider was extremely satisfied even then: "He is simply a joy," Arne van Heel summed up happily. In the jump-off, the Dutchman showed that he can really let the stallion gallop, setting the benchmark as one of the first starters. David Will and the former seven-year-old Bundeschampioness, Chaqueen, were even faster, but the pole fell at the final fence. Nor could any other jump-off competitor contest the victory from Keaton HV and Arne van Heel. "He is an exceptional horse and I am really proud of how well we have already grown together," said the association rider.

In the second qualifying round for five-year-olds, the association-owned stallion Deichkind by Don-Limbus (Rasmus Lüneburg) was the best-performing Holsteiner. Ridden by Arne van Heel, the chestnut achieved a score of 8.8 and finished fourth. Comme le feut by Comme il faut-Caretino (Ivonne Carstensen), ridden by Tjade Carstensen, also placed seventh with a score of 8.6. The association stallion Union City by United Way-Connor (Alf Bartholomäus) came tenth with a score of 8.4 under Lucas Wenz.
