At the Late Entry show in Riesenbeck, a number of horses from the ‘Land between the Seas’ shone in a challenging show jumping class – five of the top ten finishers were Holsteiners. Coming third was the Clarimo-Claudio daughter Amelia (Dieter Wenning, Hanau), line 4539, ridden by the Frenchman Yann Chartier. In fourth place was Chakra (photo) by Casall-Quidam de Revel (Johann-Peter Lass, Leck), line 5382, ridden by Eoin McMahon (IRL). Markus Renzel (GER) rode Dobby by Larimar-Caretino (Hans Thomsen, Hörup), line 5329, to sixth place, whilst Donna by Catoki-Corrado (ZG von Dörnberg and von Malaise, Damp), line 776, ridden by Marco Kutscher (GER), came ninth. Christian Hess (GER) and Untouched by Uriko-Cartani (Doris Schimmer, Weddingstedt), line 4025, rounded off the top ten.
In two L-level competitions for young horses in Riesenbeck, a Holsteiner took first place in each: Eldorados by Embassy II-Contender (Hans Peter Petersen, Tating), line 1298, ridden by Daniel Schwaf (GER), and Cokidoo by Casall-Larimar (ZG Bröcking, Borken), line 1446, ridden by Emelie Pieper (GER). The former Holsteiner auction horse Canada I.Z. by Casall-Dollar de la Pierre (Boie Behrens, Helse), line 173, ridden by Clarissa Crotta (SUI), secured second place in an M** show jumping class.
In an M** show jumping class in Damme, Quick Step by Quintero-Ciacomo (August Bartjen, Bad Zwischenahn), line 503, ridden by Stefanie Bolte (GER), won the second division. Christa by Christon-Clinton I (Dirk Ahlmann, Reher), line 4294, and Jan Wernke (GER) took the S* show jumping class.
First place went to Hakuna Matata by Cartani-Casall (Sören von Rönne, Neuendeich), line 4847, ridden by Laurens Houben (BEL), whilst third place went to Cupfer by Casall-Landos (Nybor Pferde GmbH, Borken), line 4, and Marcus Ehning (GER) in the 1.35-metre Youngsters’ Tour in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
