For three years now, the Holsteiner Mare of the Year has been honoured on the occasion of the Holsteiner Horse Days based on her own performance and that of her progeny. This year it is Touch of Class by Lux Z-Capitol I (Stall De Margaretha Hoeve, Netherlands) from stem 4025. Touch of Class came to Elmshorn with her owner Julius-Peter Sinnack to receive the award.
For many years, the entrepreneur has been breeding show jumpers extremely successfully with the Holsteiner mare and her progeny. Her most prominent son is certainly United Touch S by Untouched (Richard Vogel/GER). But it is by no means only him who has earned his dam her total of 27 stars – two of them for her own performance. For example, Deauville S by Diamant de Semilly was born in 2006. Ridden by Laura Kraut (USA), the gelding jumped in competitions up to 1.60 metres, much like his one-year-younger half-sister Zypria S by Canturo, who participated in the Olympic Games in Tokyo with Willem Greve. And with New Classic S by Nabab de Reve, Touch of Class is the dam of another internationally successful horse whom Sophie Hinners was able to place up to 1.50 metres.
The President of the Association of Breeders of the Holsteiner Horse, Olaf Rörden, presented Julius-Peter Sinnack with the FN medal in gold, and the mare Touch of Class was fitted with the Holsteiner elite blanket.
