A total of 6.5 million euros was at stake in the Global Champions League Super Cup in Prague – and several Holsteiners also competed for this prize money.
Already in the semi-final, this grey had presented himself in fantastic form, and in the final he also remained clear: Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), stem 4539, was one of only three horses in this extremely difficult jumping class to achieve this feat with his rider Max Weishaupt. After Team Riesenbeck International had won the semi-final, Christian Kukuk and Checker as well as Philipp Weishaupt and Oreo D.R., unlike their team-mate, had to chalk up several penalty points, so that a top placing moved far out of reach.
Two Holsteiners in another team were able to rejoice over a top placing – namely second place: Coolio by Casalito-Quidam de Revel (Martina Wirtz, Hohenzieritz), stem 2067, and Marcus Ehning as well as Elysium by Zirocco Blue-Coronado I (Manfred Tummes, Mülheim), stem 4539, and Hans-Dieter Dreher secured silver in the Super Cup for Valkenswaard United, which thus earned 1.5 million euros in prize money.
And a Holsteiner was also represented in the bronze team: Cordial by Casall-Chicago Z (Hans-Hermann Gempf, Stelle), stem 325, under the saddle of Denis Lynch. Their team New York Empire won one million euros.
