In Braunschweig, Thermal and Ocola, Holsteiner horses made a name for themselves this weekend, particularly thanks to their successes:
In the 1.50-metre show jumping class at the CSI4*, no fewer than three Holsteiners finished in the top six: These were Chicharito by Casalito-Quo Vados I (Karl Heinz Knudsen, Pellworm), line 741, and Adrian Schmid (SUI) in third place. Also in the top six was the former Holsteiner auction horse Dacara E by Cancara-Caretino, line 5064, bred by Gerd Eggers from Stadum, ridden by Cassandra Orschel (POL) in fourth place. Also, Contendrix by Contendro I-Carinjo (Sönke Paulsen, Arlewatt), line 206, and Toni Hassmann (GER) in sixth place.
In the Youngster Tour, Coquetto by Cornet Obolensky-Casquetto (Witt Pferdezucht GbR, Wellinghusen), line 2067, and Hannes Ahlmann (GER) completed nothing but clear rounds over the three days, securing third place once and fifth place twice. On the final day of the event, the stallion received a special honour as LC Youngster Champion. Furthermore, Zoe Blue BTH by Zirocco Blue-Colman (Hans Peter Petersen, Tating), line 3317, and Katrin Eckermann (GER) took bronze in the final. Can Hope by Cascadello I-Lord (Reimer Detlef Hennings, Bendorf), line 425, and Finja Bormann (GER) came fourth.
In Thermal (USA), Conor Swail (IRL) presented Casturano by Castelan-Canturo (Reimer Detlef Hennings, Bendorf), line 318D1, a promising horse that began its competitive career in Schleswig-Holstein with Alessa Hennings. Swail won a 1.45-metre show jumping class with the gelding and placed his tried-and-tested Theo by Christian-Calando IV (Gerhard Krätzer, Loit), line 8865, in sixth place. Cerolino by Cero I-Come on (Harm Thormählen, Kollmar), line 173, and Kyle King (USA) came third.
Also in the USA, in Ocala, Florida, Carlito’s Way by Casall-Lordanos (Johannes Petersen, Bredenbek), line 4847, and Alexa Pessoa (USA) enjoyed success. Over 1.55 metres, they secured fourth place. Another daughter of Casall (MV. Corrado I), line 425, bred by Anton Bauer of Wagram, named Coco Beach, took sixth place with Richie Moloney (IRL).
