Last weekend, Holsteiner horses enjoyed success on the international stage in Denmark, Italy and Spain; some of them began their careers at the Bundeschampionat.
In Gorla Minore (ITA), Dante (Sven Völz, Bienenbüttel), a son of Darco de Revel from line 730B, took third place in a 1.50-metre show jumping class. The grey, out of a Casco dam, is the half-brother of Callias, who has enjoyed success at 1.60-metre level, and was ridden by Armin Schäfer (GER). The former Bundeschampion under Richard Vogel, Con Quality by Chin Champ-Quality (Hartmut Knop, Gilde), line 1298, finished eighth here with Adrian Schmid (SUI). In another 1.50-metre course, it was Zensation by Zirocco Blue-Clarimo (Albert Klos, Wald-Michelbach), line 1120, ridden by Elisabeth Meyer (GER), who took second place.
Yuri Mansur (BRA) rode Cupfer, who once made his mark on the international circuit under Marcus Ehning, to third place in a difficult show jumping class. The son of Casall out of a Landos I dam (Nybor Pferde GmbH & Co. KG, Borken) represents Holstein line 4.
Arndt Ehlers from Stocksee is the breeder of Quintendros E by Quintender-Cassini I, line 8915. Ridden by Micky Morssinkhof (NED), the stallion took third place in a 1.45-metre show jumping competition in Vejer de la Frontera (ESP).
Zoe Blue BTH by Zirocco Blue-Colman (Hans Peter Petersen, Tating), line 3317, has recently been competing under the name Iron Dames Zoe Blue BTH. The mare, who won bronze in the seven-year-old class at the 2023 National Championships, is ridden by Katrin Eckermann. She, in turn, is part of the Iron Dames’ Global Champions Tour team – and it was for this very team that patron Deborah Mayer secured the talented grey mare. In Herning (DEN), she finished second in a 1.50-metre show jumping class.
