Vintage is the name of the Verdi TN-Acodetto I son bred by ZG von Dörnberg/von Malaise (Damp), line 242, who not only put a smile on his rider Enrique Camiruaga Rueda’s (ESP) face this weekend with victory in the 1.55-metre Grand Prix at Vejer de la Frontera (ESP), but also secured him over 37,000 euros in prize money. Tenth place in this competition also went to a Holsteiner: Limbridge by Limbus-Cambridge (Ralf Pawlowski, Heidenheim), line 741, ridden by Jana Wargers (GER).
At the CSI2* in Riesenbeck (GER), Cayenne WZ by Claudio-Ramirado (Adelbert Sporn, Jardelundfeld), line 318D1, demonstrated once again that he is always up for a fast jump-off. The grey and Felix Hassmann took victory in the 1.45-metre Grand Prix.
In a 1.45-metre show jumping competition in Arezzo, Italy, a mare by Quick Orion out of Elle-Colman (Raimund Eichert, Ellwangen), line 730B, lived up to her name: Scuderia 1918 Quick and Easy galloped effortlessly away from the competition. In the saddle was the Italian rider Giulia Martinengo Marquet, who effusively thanked her horse after the class.
Davenport VDL secured no fewer than two placings over 1.50 metres this weekend: the son of Diamant de Semilly out of C-Indoctro (Hartwig Schmidt, Borsfleth), line 104B, finished ninth and second in Spain with Laura Klaphake.
In addition, the association stallion Million Dollar by Plot Blue and Sophie Hinner continued their winning streak: in the 1.50-metre Grand Prix at Oliva Nova, they finished fourth after two clear rounds.
Dressage
In Denmark, Caracciola MT by Chin Champ-Calido I (Miriam-Kathleen Haak, Bröthen), line 1463, and Daniel Bachmann Andersen (DEN) celebrated a victory at Verieck: the grey, who competed in last year’s Nuremberg Burg-Pokal final, won an Intermédiaire II class with a score of over 74 per cent.
