The Uriko-Cassini I son Uricas v/d Kattevennen (Otto Boje Schoof, Hedwigenkoog), stem 1916, celebrated a significant victory in his still young career with Harrie Smolders in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Riesenbeck. "It is only the first year that Uricas is jumping 1.60-metre classes. He needed a bit more time and that is paying off now. He was great in the jump-off," the happy winner said afterwards about the eleven-year-old. The combination has also already won the 1.60-metre Grand Prix of St. Gallen this year, among other successes. Taking fifth place was another Holsteiner mare, Cinca, under the saddle of Michael Duffy (IRL). Peter Wylde is responsible for breeding the Casall-Carthago mare from stem 318D2.
Within the framework of the Longines Global Champions Tour, the Dutchman has now succeeded in making history thanks to his two Holsteiner horses: Not only did he achieve his sixth victory in a Global Champions Tour Grand Prix with the triumph in the Riesenbeck leg, but he also placed on the podium in each of the last three legs: With Monaco by Cassini II-Contender (Ralf Lütje, Haseldorf), stem 429, he finished third in the La Coruña (ESP) standings last week and second in Monte Carlo (MON) the week before. Now, with the victory of Uricas v/d Kattevennen in Riesenbeck (GER), he set a new record result. "I focus less on the results and more on my horses," the rider remained modest regarding the overall Global Tour season.

Another sure-fire winner is the now 17-year-old Con Quidam RB by Quinar-Cardino (ZG Bröcking, Borken), line 1446, ridden by Sanne Thijssen (NED): The bay has 27 international victories to his name, the most recent of which came this weekend at the four-star show in Moerzeke (BEL). The gelding was a full seven seconds faster than the runner-up in the 1.60-metre show jumping class.
C-Jay is a son of Carthago out of a Contender dam (Hobe Bernhard, Kollmar), line 318D2, and, with Johannes Ehning (GER) in the saddle, secured victory in a 1.45-metre course as well as two further fourth places in advanced show jumping events in Riesenbeck. Among other results this year, the pair had already claimed victory in Balve.
In Samorin (SVK), things went smoothly for Lord Mexx by Larimar-Coriano (Hans Bock, Quickborn), line 1811, and Angelos Touloupis (GRE) in the 1.45-metre show jumping, which they won. In Athens (GRE) they had already finished second in 2023, and also achieved high placings at this level in Arezzo and San Giovanni (ITA).
Caro W is a daughter of Castellan II out of Aragorn (Rudolf Wieck, Auufer), line 8892, and was ridden to victory by Jad Dana (LIB) in a 1.45-metre course in Mill Spring/Tryon (USA). The mare has already enjoyed great success on several occasions at this show, most recently in the 1.50-metre Grand Prix, where she finished fourth.
