Last week, two international eventing competitions took place. Eventers gathered at the historic Badminton (GBR) for the CCI-5*-L. Here, Felix Vogg (SUI) and his experienced mare Cartania by Cartani-Clinton (Günter Koch, Vollerdieck), line 2895, galloped to eighth place, thereby giving a taste of things to come for the World Championships in Aachen this August. Meanwhile, a three-star and a four-star competition were held in Sopot (POL). In the CCI4*-S, third and fourth places went to horses with Holsteiner pedigrees. Namely to Bart by Barcley-Heraldik xx (ZG Andresen, Amrum), line 1908, ridden by Nicolai Aldinger (GER), and Camouflage by Armand xx-Contender (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 18B1, ridden by Fouaad Mirza (IND). In the three-star class, Corneritas by Cornetino-Favoritas xx (Norbert Frings, Itzehoe), line 318D2, took fifth place with Miroslav Trunda (CZE) in the saddle.
A five-star CSI took place in Lido di Camaiore, Italy. Here, several Holsteiners shone with top placings. For example, Aranykapu Adaman by Adagio de Talma-Colman (Hof am Sylvert, Föhr), line 318D2, took fourth place over 1.45 metres under Eugenio Grimaldfi (ITA), whilst Cayadino by Cayado-Quick Fire (Ulrich Rodde, Strande), line 162, took seventh place in the 1.55-metre Grand Prix under Ramzy Al Duhami (KSA).
